Support structures are needed to prevent distortion of rapid prototypes and to keep everything in place during the stereolithography or metal sintering process. Magics’ Support Generation module automatically and quickly creates the optimal supports for every part on the building platform. Magics offers a wide range of support structures that can be combined, depending on surface geometry.

The user is in full control
All automatically generated support structures can be modified individually and in great detail by manually adding, cutting and eliminating supports.


Maximal reliability, part integrity and ease of removal of support structures
Magics greatly eases support removal and ensures high surface quality by offering the possibility to add teeth or lower some of the ribs of a point support. To further ease removal of supports and save on resin, the support structures can be perforated.

Fast, efficient FEA/CFD pre-processing on STL models

Magics' Remesh module enables easy, automated geometry preparation of your STL model for FE analysis. When you lack a CAD model to start from or when the CAD model is defective and thus impossible to mesh, Magics’ Remesh technology furnishes you with an STL file ready for FEA input.

While STL files excel for use in rapid prototyping (RP) and tooling, they are not always immediately useful for FEA purposes because of the shape of the triangles. Many STL models contain skewed triangles. Such triangulation effectively prevents the creation of a good volume mesh, which is necessary for accurate FE analysis.

Magics’ Remesh Module allows for quick, easy mesh optimisation. Its range of meshing tools includes:

1. Full remeshing (from arbitrarily bad-quality triangle mesh to good-quality triangle mesh)
2. Mesh coarsening
